IVAN MALESPIN | TROMBONE

Ivan Malespin is a trombonist, bassist, and songwriter residing in Los Angeles, California. Malespin is a graduate of the New World School of the Arts, the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Eugene Lang College, and most recently the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, from which he obtained a Master’s of Music in Jazz Studies in 2019.

Mr. Malespin is a diverse instrumentalist who is comfortable playing in a variety of musical settings; his credits include the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Kanye West, and Philip Bailey, of Earth, Wind, and Fire. Ivan is a past recipient of scholarships from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the USC Black Alumni Association, and the Gold Coast Jazz Society, among others. He is currently working with his wife, pianist and vocalist Alexis Malespin on the jazz, neo-soul project, Eumajia.
